The story says that if someone is beheaded, his head still works for a few seconds. And no doubt this is true, as is often the French saw when using the guillotine during the revolution. In 1905, Dr. Beaurieux tested the myth in a death row inmate, and saw that for 5 or 6 seconds, the man was able to move his eyes. He even called several times by name and he said looking straight.
